Excellence Girls Charter School is based on the design of some of the highest performing charter schools in the country, including Excellence Boys Charter School of Bedford Stuyvesant (Brooklyn, NY), North Star Academy (Newark, NJ), and Roxbury Preparatory Charter School (Boston, MA). Therefore, Excellence Girls Charter School expects to attain results that parallel the success of these schools.

In 2009, students at Excellence Boys Charter School, our brother school, posted outstanding results on the New York State exams, as shown in the graphs below.

Focus on Literacy

On the 2009 New York State English Language Arts Exam, 84% of Excellence Boys 3rd Graders and 90% of Excellence Boys 4th and 5th Graders scored "Advanced" or "Proficient," making Excellence Boys one of the highest performing public schools in New York City and State.

Focus on Math

On the 2009 New York State Mathematics Exam, 100% of Excellence Boys 3rd, 4th, and 5th Graders scored "Advanced" or "Proficient," making Excellence Boys one of the highest performing public schools in New York City and State.
