Learn How We Get There. Taxonomy Workshop in the Capital Region.

The Taxonomy of Effective Teaching Practices, as described in the book Teach Like a Champion

What does a teacher need to do to hold his or her students to the highest expectations? What do high expectations look like? What concrete tactics should one pursue to raise expectations? Doug Lemov, Managing Director of the True North Charter School Network at Uncommon Schools, worked to answer these questions by observing and videotaping some of the best teacher from among the top urban schools in the country. These observations are used to describe and show the concrete techniques teachers use to raise expectations and drive achievement, including the 100% technique and cold callings. Teachers can replicate these techniques in the classroom immediately. This video database will allow for teachers to advance from good to great. To find out more about the program click here.
