Excellence Charter School of Bedford Stuyvesant posted outstanding results on the 2008 4th grade New York State assessments:


 













North Star Academy Charter School attained phenomenal results during the 2006-07 school year. 100% of 11th grade students passed the 2007 New Jersey High School Proficiency Assessment in English Language Arts, scoring proficient or advanced proficient, while 92% of 11th grade students passed the Proficiency Assessment in Math.








In 2007, 100% of North Star's senior class was accepted to college. Over the past four years North Star's four-year college placement rate ranks highest among all high schools in New Jersey. 2007 graduates are attending such colleges as American University, Emory University, Howard University, Lehigh University, Oberlin College, and the University of Virginia.

Middle School results include the following:
. 98% of North Star Academy 7th graders scored advanced or proficient on the 2007 New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge (NJASK) in Language Arts Literacy, compared to 54% across the Newark district. 96% of 7th graders scored advanced or proficient on the 2007 NJASK in Math, compared to 39% across the Newark district. Based on these results, North Star is the highest performing school in Newark.
. 92% of North Star Academy 6th graders scored advanced or proficient on the 2007 NJASK in Language Arts Literacy, compared to 47% across the Newark district. 89% of North Star 6th graders scored advanced or proficient on the 2007 NJASK in Math, compared to 55% across the Newark district.












Williamsburg Collegiate Charter School, the first of the Collegiate schools, achieved exceptional results in its third year, 2007-08. Williamsburg Collegiate was rated the number one public school in New York City this year, according to the NYC Department of Education progress reports.

 

 

Kings Collegiate Charter School, which opened in August 2008, posted strong results in its first year:










True North Rochester Preparatory Charter School posted exceptional results in its second year. Its 6th grade Math exam results mark Rochester Prep as the top performing public school in Monroe County on the exam, though its students are eight to ten times more likely to live in poverty than students in top performing suburban districts.

 

 








The first Preparatory school, Leadership Preparatory Charter School, opened in August 2006. The school's K and 1st grade students made excellent progress, as measured by the Terra Nova, a norm-referenced standardized test.

 

In the school's first year, Leadership Prep students also posted significant gains as measured by the Dynamic Indicators of Basic English Literacy assessment (DIBELS). By the end of the year, 91% of K and 1st graders had achieved grade level mastery in oral reading fluency, an important indicator of future reading success, as measured by the DIBELS.
