Fairmount Elementary Principal, Tameka Royal, uses pep rallies to increase enthusiasm for learning with her students. \u201cAlways stand up and always speak out. There is no substitute for in-person learning,\u201d says Royal. The school is utilizing federal aid to hire and train teachers to offer support to students when it comes to their social-emotional well-being. Uncommon\u2019s dedication to social-emotional learning is already resulting in academic improvements.
