Educators from NYC Districts 5 and 18 gathered together for a professional development session led by Uncommon Schools<\/a>. The topic: literacy.<\/p>\n

Throughout the day, teachers analyzed what it means to prepare students to access the rigor of common-core standards, and how best to support students in reading and understanding complex texts. <\/p>\n
