President Julie Jackson and CEO Brett Peiser recently contributed an opinion piece to <a style=\"color: #00bfdf\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/opinion\/ny-oped-an-education-agenda-for-eric-adams-20211205-go7yp7vprfeqvlztsakfrgp5a4-story.html\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>New York Daily News<\/em><\/a> outlining their top five recommendations to Mayor-Elect Eric Adams, who has pledged to \u201creimagine education.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Here are Uncommon\u2019s recommendations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Continue teaching grade-level content with a <a style=\"color: #00bfdf\" href=\"https:\/\/uncommonschools.org\/fr\/uncommon-sense\/using-just-in-time-instruction-address-covid-learning-loss\/\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener\">just-in-time approach<\/a> to address gaps in learning, including expanding access to Advanced Placement courses in high school<\/li>\n<li> Hire more teachers of color<\/li>\n<li> Create a dual-leadership model, where principals can focus specifically on instruction and directors of operations can focus on school operations<\/li>\n<li> Expand and strengthen alumni support through college<\/li>\n<li> Strengthen charter-district partnerships that support all teachers and students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These recommendations draw from Uncommon\u2019s experiences preparing and empowering students from low-income communities to graduate from college, and from the network\u2019s unique vantage point within the New York City public-school landscape.<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"color: #00bfdf\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/opinion\/ny-oped-an-education-agenda-for-eric-adams-20211205-go7yp7vprfeqvlztsakfrgp5a4-story.html\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Lire l'int\u00e9gralit\u00e9 de l'article ici.<\/em><\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Uncommon Schools estime que chaque enfant m\u00e9rite une \u00e9ducation exceptionnelle et s'engage \u00e0 travailler au-del\u00e0 des murs de ses \u00e9coles pour atteindre cet objectif.
