In an op-ed for the Bay State Banner, Boston District 5 City Councilor Ricard Arroyo calls on the Boston Planning and Development Agency “to do the right thing and put the high school project on their agenda in February.”<\/p>\n

In January, the Roxbury Prep community gathered on the steps of Boston City Hall to protest the BPDA’s delay<\/a> in scheduling a hearing for a proposed high school building.<\/p>\n

Students at Roxbury Prep High School currently occupy two buildings that are located five miles apart — in Hyde Park and Maywood. The facilities are wholly inadequate for our students, including a lack of appropriate space as well as the challenges that a separate campus poses on students’ academic success. <\/p>\n

The high school project looks to build a single campus on a long-abandoned auto lot on Belgrade Avenue. <\/p>\n
