In 2018, Uncommon Schools\u2019 Jody Jones won the prestigious Ryan Award for her transformational leadership as Principal at North Star Academy, where she helped lead students to meet or surpass in-state testing expectations compared to other New Jersey school districts. Five years later, Jones, now Uncommon\u2019s Senior Director of School Support in Newark, caught up with the Accelerate Institute to discuss life after winning the Ryan Award, how she continues to create \u201cequitable learning environments\u201d for children, and her mission to build pathways to leadership for school leaders of color.<\/span><\/p>\n
