Os alunos das escolas p\u00fablicas de Boston continuam a defender a constru\u00e7\u00e3o de uma escola de ensino m\u00e9dio permanente que j\u00e1 est\u00e1 em um zoneamento para uma escola<\/strong><\/p>\n

BOSTON - Estudantes da Roxbury Prep High School far\u00e3o um protesto silencioso na pr\u00f3xima reuni\u00e3o da Ag\u00eancia de Planejamento e Desenvolvimento de Boston para continuar defender um lar permanente<\/a> para sua escola de ensino m\u00e9dio. Nos \u00faltimos dois anos, a Roxbury Prep teve uma proposta para uma nova escola de ensino m\u00e9dio<\/a> no local de um estacionamento de carros usados e uma oficina mec\u00e2nica vazios e dilapidados na 361 Belgrade Ave. em Roslindale.<\/p>\n

Mas o processo est\u00e1 demorando muito mais do que o normal para esses alunos. Nos \u00faltimos dois anos, a espera m\u00e9dia para que a BPDA coloque um projeto em sua agenda ap\u00f3s o encerramento do per\u00edodo de coment\u00e1rios foi de 83 dias. J\u00e1 se passaram mais de 340 dias desde o encerramento do per\u00edodo de coment\u00e1rios sobre a proposta da Roxbury Prep para uma nova escola de ensino m\u00e9dio.<\/p>\n

O QUE:<\/strong> Os alunos de Boston participam da reuni\u00e3o da BPDA em um protesto silencioso para continuar a defender a constru\u00e7\u00e3o de uma escola de ensino m\u00e9dio permanente. <\/p>\n

POR QUE:<\/strong> Roxbury Prep<\/a> \u00e9 uma escola p\u00fablica independente, gratuita e de alto desempenho, aberta a todos os alunos de Boston. Ela foi fundada h\u00e1 20 anos com a miss\u00e3o de garantir que os alunos entrem, tenham sucesso e se formem na faculdade. No ano passado, 94% de sua turma de formandos se matricularam em faculdades de quatro anos e 100% dos alunos do \u00faltimo ano fizeram pelo menos uma aula de Advanced Placement (AP), sendo que 62% foram aprovados em pelo menos um exame de AP, muito acima da m\u00e9dia nacional.<\/p>\n

ANTECEDENTES:<\/strong> Os alunos da Roxbury Prep High School assistem \u00e0s aulas em dois pr\u00e9dios separados, localizados a quil\u00f4metros de dist\u00e2ncia. Os alunos almo\u00e7am em suas mesas e caminham at\u00e9 o YMCA local para as aulas de gin\u00e1stica. Eles tiveram que mudar de local tr\u00eas vezes nos \u00faltimos quatro anos. A Roxbury Prep prop\u00f4s a constru\u00e7\u00e3o de uma escola de ensino m\u00e9dio de \u00faltima gera\u00e7\u00e3o na 361 Belgrade Avenue, um terreno que atualmente abriga um estacionamento e uma oficina mec\u00e2nica vazios e dilapidados. Mas, por mais de um ano, a BPDA adiou o agendamento da audi\u00eancia necess\u00e1ria para que o projeto fosse adiante. A Roxbury Prep realizou v\u00e1rias reuni\u00f5es p\u00fablicas, ouviu as opini\u00f5es da comunidade e respondeu diminuindo o tamanho da instala\u00e7\u00e3o proposta. Mais de 2.000 residentes de Boston, incluindo 800 residentes de Roslindale e West Roxbury, assinaram uma peti\u00e7\u00e3o em apoio ao projeto. Mais de 85% dos coment\u00e1rios p\u00fablicos na Revis\u00e3o de Pequenos Projetos do Artigo 80 estendida foram em apoio ao projeto.<\/p>\n
