I still remember meeting with Theodora Hoegah in May of 2022 for her exit meeting. At the time, she shared that while she was excited about the idea of attending a college far from home, she anticipated remaining in New Jersey. She initially expressed interest in becoming a therapist but was also exploring Human Resources, driven by her passion for helping others and her desire to promote diversity in the workforce, particularly for women. As she looked ahead to college, she was candid about feeling both excited and nervous, especially about gaining independence and learning to advocate for herself.

Since then, Theodora has grown into a remarkable leader. From Newark to the world, Theodora’s journey has been defined by leadership, impact, and excellence. As a supply chain management major with minors in economics and social justice, she has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to both academic achievement and community engagement, earning dean’s list recognition throughout her time at Rutgers.

On campus, Theodora has emerged as a dynamic leader. She currently serves as Chief Officer of the Rutgers Black Professionals Network, leads initiatives centered on professional development and community building, and has moderated and organized impactful events, including leadership panels and large-scale campus conversations. She has also held roles as a Rutgers Business School Student Ambassador and executive board member for the Association for Supply Chain Management. Her excellence has been recognized through her selection as both a B-STAR Scholar and Prudential Scholar, and through opportunities such as attending a fully funded Supply Chain Discover Summit. Beyond campus, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to service as a Bridge Coach supporting Newark high school students through the college process.

Theodora’s experiences extend globally, having studied abroad in Barbados, Singapore, Vietnam, and Saint Lucia. These opportunities, along with her work in sustainability and supply chain innovation, have shaped her into a Rutgers Global Ambassador and strengthened her global perspective.

Professionally, she has gained valuable experience through internships with organizations such as IKEA, Enterprise Mobility, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, where she will continue this summer.

Above all, Theodora has remained grounded in her purpose, creating impact, uplifting others, and building spaces where people feel seen and supported. I am excited to see her continue to thrive in her career and beyond.
