حبيباتو كوريشي

Habibatou Koureichi graduated from Duke University with her bachelor’s degree in Global Health & Public Policy and immediately continued into the final year of her accelerated 4+1 master’s program in public policy. A QuestBridge Scholar and longtime Opportunity Network Fellow, Habibatou has always been guided by her commitment to addressing disparities in healthcare, government services, and social systems for underserved communities. She continues to balance the demands of graduate-level coursework with two campus jobs, while pursuing competitive fellowships and scholarships. Her path reflects both intellectual curiosity and resilience—whether conducting autism research, studying viruses like HIV and Ebola, or interning with nonprofits such as Little Essentials, Wellfare, and Covenant House New York, she consistently bridges academic rigor with hands-on service.

At Duke, Habibatou expanded her impact through Bass Connections, studying barriers to food security in Durham, North Carolina  and this past summer she gained national-level experience as a senate intern in Bernie Sanders’ office, where she learned firsthand about the legislative process. With a strong foundation built through mentorship, networks, and leadership opportunities, Habibatou exemplifies how persistence, purpose, and vision can transform personal experience into public impact. From local neighborhoods to the halls of government, she is charting a path to create systemic change.
