Our Schools in New York City

Uncommon Schools New York City serves over 7,600 K-12 students across 23 schools in Brooklyn, including both single-sex and co-educational schools. See below for a full list of our NYC schools.

Each of our schools shares the same mission of preparing students to enter, succeed in, and graduate from college. Students are randomly selected by public lottery in grades K and 5, and we maintain waiting lists through grade 8. We currently have schools in the Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brownsville, Canarsie, Crown Heights, East Flatbush, and Williamsburg neighborhoods of Brooklyn.

How is Uncommon NYC closing the achievement gap?

  • 81% of Uncommon NYC students scored Proficient or Advanced in Math, closing the economic achievement gap. (62%)
  • 73% of Uncommon NYC students scored Proficient or Advanced in English Language Arts, closing the economic achievement gap. (58%)
  • 4 Uncommon NYC elementary schools scored in the top 5% of schools statewide in math.
