Joshua Gomes

Meet Joshua—a Posse Scholar, world traveler, problem-solver, and all-around powerhouse who is taking his Bucknell experience global.

As a junior majoring in analytics & operations management, Joshua spent his fall semester in Singapore as an Operations Intern, where he literally redesigned how patients move through a healthcare clinic—mapping workflows, tightening processes, and making care smoother and more human. His time abroad has been just as impactful outside the office. Across Sydney and Singapore, Joshua has gone from adventure to adventure! From scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef, canyoning, ATV riding, sandboarding, exploring coastlines, and digging into cultural immersion programs, Joshua doesn’t just visit places—he experiences them!

And this wasn’t his first time leveling up. Last summer, he worked as a Project Engineer Intern with Whiting-Turner, helping oversee the construction of a massive distribution facility where he coordinated subcontractors, reviewed plans, and learned how high-stake decisions get made on the ground. He crushed it! As a result, they have asked him to return for Summer 2026.

On campus, Joshua pours into the community: serving on the Freeman Student Advisory Board, leading outreach for the Freeman DEI Alliance, and working behind the scenes as a Technical Production Specialist in Bucknell’s Theatre Department. He even joined the Silicon Valley Experience, learning from innovators at Google, Oracle, Adobe, and scrappy startups shaping the future of tech.

Joshua has a heart for service—from building garden beds for community partners to volunteering with Habitat for Humanity to giving a commencement speech at his middle school. He always finds a way to give back.

From Boston to Bucknell to Singapore, Joshua is designing a life full of purpose, adventure, and impact. His dreams of becoming a leader in project engineering and large-scale operations are already in motion and we can’t wait to see where his path leads next.
