Without great teachers, nothing else matters. Finding and developing great teachers is core to who we are at Uncommon Schools. Every Uncommon teacher receives two to three weeks of high-quality training before each school year starts, as well as ongoing individualized coaching and formal professional development that is among the best in the nation.

Our Teaching Roles

We are looking for great people to join our team, across all subjects and grade levels in elementary, middle, and high school. We welcome teachers of all experience levels, united by a shared mission to prepare our students for success in college and beyond.

Classroom Teachers

Experienced teachers lead rigorous and joyful classrooms on their own or, in some elementary school grades, in partnership with another teacher.

Talented individuals with limited or no teaching experience gain the practical, hands-on experience necessary to excel as full-time classroom teachers.

Our renowned summer teaching program is an opportunity for rising college seniors to receive hands-on teaching experience and coaching, preparing them to teach at Uncommon after graduation.

Specials and Electives Teachers

Our world-class specials and elective teachers lead classes including music, physical education, performing arts, engineering, computer science and more, and they lead performances, science fairs, clubs, and cultural celebrations.

We are pioneers in using data to drive our decisions in the classroom and deliver the most effective classroom experience, differentiating based on students’ individual needs and what skills they have mastered.
