Co-CEOs Brett Peiser and Julie Jackson named to 2022 Power Players in Education

  • October 5, 2022

Uncommon Co-CEOs Brett Peiser and Julie Jackson have been named to Politics NY’s list of 2022 Power Players in Education.

Before becoming Co-CEO of Uncommon Schools, Peiser served as managing director of Uncommon Schools NYC. Peiser is the founder and former principal, and executive director of Boston Collegiate Charter School, and a former History teacher. “We know nothing is more important in the education of a student than a great teacher,” he shares. “Given the past two years, this feels even more true, so we need to ensure that every school is equipped to honor teachers’ craft by providing them with the training, tools, and resources they need to be effective teachers.”

Co-CEO Julie Jackson is committed to improving public education and has trained over 30,000 teachers and leaders globally. “New York makes it very difficult to become a teacher and stay a teacher,” she says. “Even more so if you are a person of color. It’s time to revamp the teacher preparation process so that we can truly fill the needs of our public schools.”
