Stephen Chiger is a Director of Literacy for Uncommon Schools. He taught high school English and journalism for more than a decade in New Jersey. Named 2015 Educator of the Year by the New Jersey Council of Teachers of English, Stephen has also served as president of the Garden State Scholastic Press Association and co-director for the Hugh N. Boyd Journalism Diversity Workshop. As a literacy director, he is honored to have worked with Uncommon’s middle and high schools to help students fall in love with literacy.
