  • January 13, 2020

On January 9, Uncommon Schools Excellence Boys Elementary Academy hosted students and staff from Morehouse College, to learn more about future career and post-graduation opportunities in education. Sixteen sophomores and juniors from the Atlanta-based HBCU visited the all-boys school to hear from Uncommon’s Recruitment Team, visit several elementary and middle school classrooms, and interacted with Uncommon students and staff.

The visitors also participated in an alumni panel that included Morehouse alumni who currently work at Uncommon, including Jaz Grant (Principal, Ocean Hill Elementary), Quinterrence Bell (Principal, Excellence Boys Elementary), Jacobi Clifton (Principal, Leadership Prep Brownsville Elementary Academy), and Don Taylor (Senior Associate Director, Recruitment).

The Morehouse students were visiting New York City as part of the Career Leadership Institute Program, providing the young men with an opportunity to visit a variety of companies and firms in the Big Apple, from NBCUniversal Media to BNY Mellon.
