After spending a year in a training program and four years teaching History, Frankline Mardi was appointed Principal at Roxbury Prep Dorchester. Her love for teaching points back to when she was a student and she helped tutor her mother, who spent most of her childhood trying to get her GED.

Now she can do exactly what she dreamt of doing: Teaching city kids who share the same kind of upbringing that she had.

It was important to Mardi to give back to her community and continue teaching in Dorchester, and having that community-centered in-school and out-of-school experience only enhances her ability to lead the students and the staff.

She graduated from Dorchester Public Schools before attending Mt. Holyoke College to pursue a degree in history and a minor in education. After graduation she learned about Uncommon Schools.
