Ashton Coppin graduated from UCC in 2022 and initially enrolled at SUNY Purchase. However, after facing challenges applying to college during the pandemic and not being able to fully engage in courses he enjoyed, he decided to take a year off.
During his time away from school, Ashton worked full-time at Macy’s while searching for a college that would better support his music aspirations and provide the learning environment he needed to thrive. However, when he was ready to return, he discovered he had an outstanding balance at SUNY Purchase, which made re-enrollment difficult.
Ashton found a music program at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) that felt like the right fit. He recently started classes and is doing well! He feels comfortable in his new environment and is extremely proud to be back in school after two years, continuing his journey toward earning his degree.
