Alum Kelith teaching gym class at Uncommon

Kelith Appolon

Kelith Appolon is currently working with Uncommon Schools and serves as the Physical Education Teacher at Kings Elementary School, while fulfilling coaching duties for soccer and basketball teams. His work is a testament to his profound passion for sports and holistic player development. Kelith started as a student at WCCS and was training to become the best player he could be. After college, Kelith made a commitment to excel as both an educator and coach, so he dedicated his time to nurture scholars for success on and off the court.

“I am deeply committed to empowering scholar-athletes, knowing that participation in sports not only provides an invaluable outlet, but also significantly enhances collegiate graduation rates. The lessons learned in sports translate to life.”

Embedded within his ethos is the invaluable lesson learned from his basketball journey: “fall down seven times, stand up eight.”

This resilient mindset, cultivated through the challenges of the game, serves as a guiding principle in both sports and life, propelling him forward despite setbacks, ultimately shaping his journey.

“I experienced many setbacks, but I never gave up and now I am at Kings as a fitness educator.”
